Coventry Arts week 2025 logo

Last week saw us take part in a wealth of performances across the city as part of Coventry Arts week to celebrate the arts taking place in schools and organisations involving young people

On Tuesday we held a celebration event during the day, allowing schools who have provision with us to take part in a morning or afternoon session to showcase the work they have been doing this year, as well as see what others have been doing in other schools.

It was a lovely day and there was a full variety of skills on show, from choirs, to ukulele and brass to samba. It was a joy to see all the children take part and give them the opportunity to perfom in front of an audience in a real theatre.

On Tuesday Evening we held our annual Summer Showcase, where our music groups are given the opportunity to shine. The evening was truly spactacular with performances from our Junior Voices Choir, String Orchestra, flute group, Orchestra project and Sparks! Groups. They were joined by 9 schools to form a massed choir. The audience gave a standing ovation having enjoyed the show so much and were rewarded with a roof-raising encoure. We are so proud of everyone involved, and it truly shows the level of talent and commitment across our groups.

On Friday we had over 700 school children from 18 schools come together in the city centre to put on a perfomance of Lady Godiva the Musical. This was a project based on the book by Aaron Ashmore, that the schools have been working on over the last few months.

Then on Saturday the week was finished off with a BookNic at War Memorial Park. The event celebrated community, reading and learning and the event will kicked-off with a parade, followed by interactive activities, creative and sports workshops, circus skills and performances from schools themselves! We were really happy to have been involved with this and all the other activities across the Arts Weekm highlighting just how much art and culture there is in our lovely city,
