Coventry Music is launching a brand-new Alternative Provision Programme, and it’s all about giving young people a fresh start through creativity.

Why now? Because we’ve seen the need in our work with Pupil Referral Units, through our Positive Choices after-school sessions, and with children in care, one truth stands out: Music changes lives.

It gives a voice to those who feel unheard. It builds confidence where there was doubt. It creates belonging where there was isolation.

This new programme is designed for those students who find traditional classrooms tough, those who need a different way to connect and thrive. And what better way than through music?

Here’s what’s waiting for them at the fantastically-equipped Media Mania studios:

  • DJ’ing and beat-making
  • music production and studio learning
  • podcast creation
  • exploring musical instruments

It’s hands-on, it’s creative, and it’s collaborative. Students will leave not just with skills, but with pride in what they’ve achieved - whether that’s producing a track, performing in a band, or creating a podcast.

Our goal is simple: to turn disengagement into empowerment and give every child the chance to find their rhythm. Because every child deserves a voice and music helps them find it.
