Harvey Jones who previously attended Coventry AP Academy and continues to attend post-16 music sessions at Coventry AP Academy was fortunate enough to be part of the Royal Shakespeare Company's 'Next Gen Backstage' programme. Harvey who has worked with Coventry Music's Joe Cook while attending Coventry AP Academy was one of the young people selected from across the UK to be involved in the programme taking place in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Harvey had previous experience of theatre working with the Belgrade Theatre as part of their Romeo and Juliet programme and through his engagement with Coventry Music has started to look at merging his love for music, sound designer and sound engineering in the world of theatre. The three day programme had Harvey working alongside the Royal Shakespeare's companies sound team. Sharpening his skills in composition, sound design and sound engineering. Harvey collaborated with other young people to produce and showcase a scene from 'The Two Gentlemen of Verona' featuring professional Shakespearian actors performed in the Royal Shakespeare company's theatre. Harvey was supported by Joe Cook and Sharon Grey, English Lead at Coventry AP Academy to allow him to gain hands on experience and working alongside industry professionals.
