We’ve had an absolutely brilliant return to our Alternative Provision programme this term
It’s been fantastic to see students coming back so motivated, confident and excited after such a positive Spring term.
One of the first through the door was Rylan, proudly arriving with a brand new bass guitar, bought as an Easter present from his grandad. After our in‑house student technician gave it a quick check and set‑up, Rylan wasted no time getting stuck in, using his new instrument confidently with the rest of his band throughout the day. Seeing him take real ownership of his role and jump straight back into music‑making set a brilliant tone for the sessions.
We were also celebrating a huge success with Samuel, our very own vocal superstar. Just before the Easter break, Samuel won his school talent contest and returned bursting with pride, trophy in hand, ready to share the news with everyone. Even more excitingly, he also told us that he’s made it through to the audition stage of Britain’s Got Talent, taking place in October, an incredible achievement and one that inspired both staff and fellow learners alike.
Across the sessions, there was a real buzz in the room. Learners showed strong focus and teamwork as they rehearsed their band material, developed original tracks and began preparing to record the first episode of their podcast. The confidence, creativity and resilience on display was a real reminder of how much progress these young people continue to make.
It’s been a genuinely uplifting start to the term and a great reflection of the supportive, creative environment built by the team. Sessions delivered by Mark P, Grace and Sophia continue to provide young people with the space to reconnect with learning, develop confidence and, most importantly, believe in their own potential.
We’re really looking forward to seeing where this term takes us next.
