Mornings of Music Resources

Early Years Resources in collaboration with Funky Feet
Coventry Music has worked with Funky Feet Music to produce a free music resource exclusively for Early Years practitioners across Coventry. This resource is available for download.
This exclusive package of songs and supporting documents:
- places emphasis on the link between music making and physical development and the subsequent effect on child development.
- provides a broad range of songs and musical games that support language, literacy, and numeracy skills
- follows the same format as the Development Matters framework
- provides opportunities for observation and assessment and gives suggestions for extension activities
- provides creative opportunities

Other useful resources for schools
Create-React
Free teaching resources for Years 4 to 6. Composer Liam Taylor-West has collaborated with University of Bristol mathematicians to produce a short maths + music course for primary schools. The three-part video series the maths of repeating and non-repeating sequences using simple musical examples and exercises. Information and lesson plans are available at https://create-react.com/LTW.html. Liam is also available to give free virtual workshops for your school. The Phoenix of Persia Educational Resources
The Phoenix of Persia is a children’s book with specially composed music that introduces pupils to the music, culture, storytelling and history of Iran. Alongside the book, we have developed a cross-curricular resource pack for key stage 2, as well as a resource box (The Shahnameh Box) that is available for loan via local schools library services.
They have developed an educational website that includes ideas for classroom activities, a powerpoint with embedded videos that cover activities that were taking place in the workshops and which teachers can try out for themselves, as well as (the very positive) feedback from teachers who have already used the resource, such as this example.

Travelling Light Theatre company are delighted to share an exciting new story and free digital resource for primary schools, 17 and the Squeak Gobbler.
